Where We Come From

My mother kept
the recipe in her hands,
not on paper.

She left Saigon in 1982 with two suitcases and a cast-iron pot she refused to leave behind. By the time I was old enough to stand on a step stool beside her, I understood that food was how she held onto everything the ocean had tried to take.

Phở Catering started in my home kitchen in 2010 — two folding tables, borrowed chafing dishes, and a wedding for forty guests who ate every last drop of broth. Fourteen years later, we roll into weddings, tech office lunches, and block parties with the same recipe my bà ngoại bruised into muscle memory.

We don't shortcut the broth. We don't buy pre-made sauces. Every single thing that leaves our kitchen has been touched by someone who cares.
